(Prerequisite: Music Makers: At the Keyboard, Year One)

Musikgarten children come to the piano ready to play the songs they have learned to sing, dance and love. Small group lessons at the keyboard capitalize on your child's delight in making music with others and allow the children to have success quickly playing songs that they know. In this second year of the program, your child will continue to learn to play by ear, with an increasing emphasis placed upon music reading skills. To continue the fun at home you will again receive 1 listening CD and 1 practice CD (along with digital downloads for each), with special tracks to practice each week. Notation games, repertoire pieces, sight-reading pieces, study of composers and styles of music, opportunities for composing and improvising, and more comprise you child's comprehensive learning materials that will help him/her stay excited about playing and encourage him/her to make music long after the lessons stop.

This class offers adults the opportunity to play with their babies in a musical setting, experiencing music and movement activities designed to delight the child and awaken his or her curiosity about music.
